E3 09 Day 1

Treasures were in abundance today at E3: The Electronic Entertainment Expo. Here are some of the amazing trailers shown throughout the day...

Left 4 Dead 2
Trailer looks sooo sick

Halo 3: ODST
This time around you aren't a Spartan, you're a ODST. Takes place 3 years before Halo 3. Looks badass.

Halo: Reach (aka Halo 4)
Just a teaser, but cool to see.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Another teaser, but cool to see MGS finally on Xbox 360.

Final Fantasy XIII (demo)
Another first timer on Xbox 360, looks sick.

Alan Wake
Cool new title. Scary thriller about a writer whos book is coming true while out near a mysterious lake.

Tom Clancy - Splinter Cell: Conviction (Walkthrough)
Complete revamp for Splinter Cell that introduces sweet new skills like mark+execute, looks intense.

Brutal Legend
This will make you want to play video games if you don't already. Stars Jack Black and a plethora of Rock and Roll legends, will take you into a world you've only ever dreamed of.

Star Wars The Old Republic MMO
Gonna put World of Warcraft in it's place. This looks soo bombzilla.

Academy of Champions: Football
Great looking Soccer game that seems like Harry Potter meets Fifa. Best animation, in my opinion, shown today at E3.

Rabbids Go Home
The next Raving Rabbids title, hilarious concept. Basically the Rabbids want to go to the moon, so they have to build a pile of junk to climb up there, of course your task is to collect the junk.

DJ Hero
Guitar Hero with Turntables and sweet beats.

By the way, by far the craziest ish discussed today was Microsoft's Project Natal. Codename for Xbox's in-development controller-less play style. It uses scanners, facial, and vocal recognition, to allow users freedom to play Xbox without a controller. It will work with the current 360 as well as future consoles. It is seriously the way of the future. It will lead to our demise, I've seen the Terminator, trust me. They also showcased a program called Milo that will talk to you and can recognize emotions and recreate emotion, as well as bring items from the real world into the game. Freaky. Loook...
Here's how the controls function

Here is the freaky Milo kid that you can hang out with if you have no friends

No word on when this will be available for purchase.

Also later in the day at the Ubisoft press conference, Ubisoft announced that they had developed a fitness game titled "Your Shape" that will utilize a similar motion tracking camera scanner to control the game. This camera will connect to the USB on the Wii, and will be included with the game this holiday season. It will essentially be a less epic version of the Project Natal, but at least we can put a release date on this type of technology.
