Indiana Jones Limited Edition M&M's

YAY! We finally got these in at my store. M&M has just launched tie in M&M's for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" including a Limited Edition Mint Crunch flavor. They are so delicious! They are crunchy like those old "Crispy" flavored ones they used to have, but have mint chocolate that taste like Andes. It is incredible. And if you let em melt in your car and/or pocket they get EVEN MORE DELICIOUS! Peanut and Chocolate also got revamped packaging for the movie that hits theaters May 22 this year. Some of the M&M's also got cool little Indiana Jones markings like a fedora, a tribal mask, a temple, a skull, and a compass.

In other Indian Jones news... Want to see what the general idea of the film is without waiting for the movie to actually come out. Then check out The Asylum's latest straight to video ripoff "Allan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls". The Asylum is a company notorious for putting out cheap straight to DVD knock offs before films even reach theaters to piggy back on the marketing of the legitimate film. Case in point: "Alien vs Hunter" upon the release of "Alien vs Predator 2", "Monster" before "Cloverfield", "100 million B.C" sneaking up on "10,000 B.C", "Transmorphers" vs "Transformers", "Snakes on A Train", "Invasion of the Pod People", "Pirates of Treasure Island", and my personal favorite "I am Omega" (this one starred the incredible talent of Mark Dacascos, the host of "Iron Chef America"... really.) It has to be the best title for a rip-off by far, it uses the I AM from 'I am Legend' and the OMEGA from the earlier film adaptation 'Omega Man' and smashes them together in a flurry of creativity. (I wish there was a way to emphasize sarcasm on here.) Anyways, here is another crappy film from this company, but they will probably rake in fat bank on it, so who am I to judge. Me personally, I'll hold off for the real deal.

Trailer Park

Here are a few new trailers:

"The House Bunny" looks funny, Anna Farris and Colin Hanks.

"The Wackness"... holy crap that is Josh Peck, when did he get smokin'??
Throw in some Ben Kingsley doing smack with Mary Kate Olsen, this looks 'dope'

"Mister Lonely" is a movie about a bunch of people who live together in a castle as celebrity impersonators. um... wtf... Diego Luna as Michael Jackson con un accent??? ok.

"Chaos Theory" THIS LOOKS AWESOME

"Tropic Thunder" A group of ridiculous actors get sent to Vietnam to do "research" for their movie. Robert Downey Jr. pulls a "Soul Man" in this. I CAN'T WAIT!

"Hellboy 2 The Golden Army".
This is from the genius directing of Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth), so its gonna have his signature freaky/beautiful creatures and special effects. And Selma Blair. But I haven't decided if that is enough to get me in the theater. I'm gonna have to watch part 1 again. I think I remember liking it more than "The Punisher" when the 2 came out at around the same time. Eh, we'll see. The trailer does make the mistake of unveiling the big bad monster... which is never a good idea...

Trailer Trash: Out of the Blue

Scarfish expressed some interest in this movie since I posted my blog about Karl Urban, so I just wanted to share the trailer. Check it Out.

and here is an interesting news report about the true events that I found on YouTube

Flakes

"Flakes" is a hilarious new comedy about Cereal. Yes, Cereal. Actually this movie is really about a couple who dream of living the rest of their lives as artists traveling the country in a Streamliner trailer. I decided to check this movie out right away when I noticed it was directed by the guy who directed the Christian Slater/Wynona Ryder 80s Masterpeice "Heathers". It also stars the amazingly beautiful Zooey Deschanel ("Tin Man", "Failure to Launch") and her hunky "Live Free or Die" costar Aaron Stanford (Pyro in "XMen"). Stanford's character works at a Cereal Restaurant owned by Christopher Lloyd ("Back to the Future") to pay his bills while writing music to become a famous rocker. Deschanel is his eccentric artist girlfriend who pushes him to commit solely to his craft. What follows is a hilarious battle of wits when Deschanel gets a job at a rival Cereal Cafe with the goal of putting Stanford's store out of business. This movie is a real treat, and it made me really want cereal the entire sitting. The cast is great, and the one liners are some of the funniest I've ever heard. "No! I need all the FREAKIES!" priceless. The entire concept was a lot of fun. This movie hits DVD tomorrow, so if you are in the mood for eccentric characters and Cereal definetly check it out.

We Are All Made of Corn.

"King Corn". Watch this amazing Documentary to find out exactly why Americans today are basically made up of only Corn. It's funny and interesting... and a little frightening.

It follows 2 guys who plant an acre of corn in Iowa in order to see what the corn is made up of and where it ends up; all because they found out that 90% of their hair was made up of corn.

Karl Urban

Ok, I am a ridiculous Karl Urban fan. I think he is majorly foxy, has a mad sexy accent, and is talented as hell. He's got a new flick from New Zealand that just hit DVD 2 weeks ago called "Out Of The Blue", a true story about a guy who goes bananas and massacres 13 people in his town (the largest massacre in New Zealand's history). Anyways I saw this video tribute and it made me laugh. I think only because it is INCREDIBLY cheesy, my favorite part is "What up?" It is so strangely early 90s feeling. Maybe the song and the inserts, or the slow-mo... I don't know.

Anyways if you have any desire to, feel free to watch it... its hot and corny all at the same time. and go out and rent "Out of The Blue"

A Bathing Ape LA Opens TODAY!

Today is a fantastic day! Today is the day Los Angeles FINALLY gets an "A Bathing Ape" Store. Woohoo. This will be the 2nd BAPE store in the United States, with the other being located in SOHO New York. BAPE is the genius brainchild of clothing designer Nigo (Ice Cream, Billionaire Boys Club), the inspiration began with the film "Planet of The Apes" which, if you know me, is one of my all-time favorites. So... he does alot of really comfy clothes that are really well made and incorporate fun design elements like an Ape silhouette, Ape Camoflage, funky cartoons, and superheroes. The fascinating thing about BAPE though is its limited availability. All items are manufactured in limited amounts to assure that you never see someone rocking the same BAPE as you. Anyways I am so so so excited about this, I bought a hoodie back in December when I went to NYC, and it is amazingly comfy. (FYI just to tell you how limited everything is, I knew exactly which one I wanted going in which came in 3 different colors; I wanted a Medium Maroon one... I left with a Large Grey one. You have to get lucky to find what you want there.) Back to what I was saying, they are incredibly fun and really well made. If you are into funky tokyo clothing like Kanye and Pharell, and don't mind waiting in line to get into the store, you should definetly check it out and go apeshit. (thats a pun. hahahaha...ha)

Salvia Trip.

Allegiance to the Fire... this video is hilarious.

Trailer Trash: The Pineapple Express

Thanks Scarfish for pointing this out to me.

So "The Pineapple Express" is the next, very anticipated film from Judd Apatow. To anyone who enjoys laughter, Apatow is the GOD that produced "Knocked Up", "The 40 year old Virgin", "Superbad", "Talladega Nights", TV's "Freaks and Geeks", "Undeclared", and my personal favorite" Heavyweights". For this one he's getting together with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (the writters of "Superbad"). The Pineapple Express will be a weed, action, comedy starring Rogen and James Franco (who is FINALLY coming back to Apatow comedy since "Freaks & Geeks", his cameo in "Knocked Up" doesn't count!) as well as Bill Hader. It looks hilarious. It's tenative release date is Aug 8, 2008. Check it out.

Panic At The Disco - Pretty. Odd.

This record is SO BOMB. I've been playing it over and over for the last 2 days. It is a bit different than their last album "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" (which is a great record. not a single track that makes you skip forward). The major difference on this one is that the music gets a bit disjointed at times, like they have soo many great ideas they wanna cram 'em all into one song. Also the first album was the kind of record you leave on and it just flows through from beginning to end. This record has tracks like "Nine in the Afternoon" and "When the Day met the Night" that just pop out and are AMAZING! If anything the record flows until track 8, then flows through to the end. Like a 2 act play, with several memorable moments. Anyways if you are a fan of intriguing, thoughtful music, you should definitely pick this up. It's great.

Nim's Island

If you have retarded children they may be the only ones who will understand/ enjoy this movie. What a disappointment. Abigail Breslin's amazing onscreen presence is the only saving grace of this movie. Jodie Foster should not be allowed to EVER do a family film again, seriously. She was just akward and weird the whole movie through. It was just not really as whimsical or light as the previews made it look. Well, I mean, I suppose I should have trusted my gut on this because there were 2 trailers out for this flick; one that made it look awesome and another that looked weak. The weak looking one actually laid the film out honestly. I should actually commend the second trailer's editor for making a boring flick look really interesting, that is some great marketing. Ok back to the movie, it was just not good. You can rent it for your kids or something when there is nothing to really do, or find a guy in downtown LA to sell you a Bootleg for 4 dollars, but even that seems like too much for this one. Sorry family film industry, this was not your best work.

(If you don't know what I'm talking about, the trailer is located in the "trailer trash" post from March)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Oh God This Movie was SOOOO good. Really really funny. The whole cast is freaking hilarious. And you get to see Jason Segel's junk; full frontal nudity is always welcome in my comedy films. It is incredibly well written, the music is hilarious, the acting is fantastic, and it has puppetry by the Jim Henson Company. I don't think there is really much more you can ask for.

Just go watch it, stop reading this, just go!

Check out the trailer in my earlier "trailer trash" post.

is it too late to apologize?

School has been crazy this quarter and there has been about a million things going on in my life right now, so I really want to apologize to anyone who actually reads this blog. Sorry I've been ignoring the internet, but hopefully I can finish off the month of April by sharing some interesting perspectives with you. Just to put it out there I have finally turned 21, I've started acting again at school, and I've made about 25 new legitimate friends this month and I'm really trying to spend time with all the people who matter. On top of all the busy work I've given myself, my store is closing. I've worked at this Blockbuster for 3 years but I've been in there practically everyday for the last 20 years. This is MY store, my little safe haven, and now the lease is too high to make the rent. So I'm dealing with all that end of an era crap. No fun.

Anyways I just wanted to share a little about my life right now, not trying to excuse my absence but just to give you something MORE to read.

Love you all. Gina Gina.

Rock Band (PS2)

Hey yalllll.
Got Rock Band for my birthday this week.
Short analysis... beautiful graphics, great songs, good setup, poor execution.
There is something REALLY lacking during gameplay. The drums sound like cars are constantly crashing in your house. The guitar sticks and misses notes, its also lacking the feedback noises of Guitar Hero (the ones that let you know if you are nailing it or missing the notes) which is annnnoying.

Alicia came over, we played, we made it fun, but we gave up halfway to lurk some kid on myspace. It just doesn't hold your interest like Guitar Hero. Sorry thats my opinion, rockers.

Make it better. Try again!

In Memory of A Legend

Charlton Heston, one of the greatest actors of our time, passed away this past Saturday.
Heston was an Oscar winner with over 100 films under his belt. I used to sit in front of the TV for hours watching "Planet of The Apes" and thinking he was such a hunk. As an adult I went out and discovered "Omega Man", "Soylent Green", "Earthquake", "Ben-Hur", "The Ten Commandments", and "Julius Ceasar"... just to list a few... and I cherished each little cinema gem for his endless talent. This is a truly sad loss, but his memory will remain through the films he left behind.

Make Me A Supermodel US Finale

lame lame lame
Ugly Holly won $100,000 on the season finale of Make Me A Supermodel last night. I knew Ben wasn't gonna win because he is still pretty green and seems uptight all the time. Holly is nice to look at in photos but she has funky teeth and talks all hillbilly. "Turtle! Turtle!"
I thought it was gonna be down to Perry and Ronnie, even though I think Perry has the WEIRDEST shoulders I've ever seen. Ronnie is great looking in my opinion, even though he isn't very "edgy". Anyways, it came down to Holly and Ronnie, I thought Ronnie had it in the bag, but I was wrong. America got jipped.

Ronnie and Holly

Lars And The Real Girl

Loved It! Ryan Gosling has a double chin and is still wicked sexy. The movie is a nice optimistic story about how people treat one another. I love idealistic stories, because generally thats my view on the world around me. This movie has a BRILLIANT cast led by the gorgeous Ryan Gosling. He is just so talented, apparently he lived for a few months in his mothers basement alone with the doll from the movie. It really makes a difference. This flick also has Emily Mortimer who showed up at the end of the first season of "30 Rock" (my new favorite show) as Pheobe, the girl with hollow bones. Paul Schneider, Kelli Garner, and Patricia Clarkson... the whole ensemble is great. The movie is really sweet subtle dramedy. If you liked movies like "Dan in Real Life" or "The Family Stone" I think you will like this one. Rent it April 15th.

Do You Think About Me Now & Then?

Sorry about the absence, in all honesty there was NOTHING to blog about. Weak.

New Kanye featuring Chris Martin, this song is SO hot! "Homecoming"

By the way, if anyone cares, as an April Fool's Prank YOUTUBE.COM's frontpage video links all lead to "Rick Astley-Never Gonna Give You Up". It's Pretty Funny.
